Junior Skills Clinic

Juniors Overview
The junior program is designed to provide all children with the means of developing superior skills in an enjoyable and encouraging environment. Our philosophy is to keep class sizes to a maximum of 12 participants per coach to ensure that each child will receive ample attention, both one on one and within the group environment. We will guarantee that your child will receive hundreds of touches of the ball at each session and will always be engaged.

Session times
The junior program will normally run parallel with Primary School terms and will span over a nine week period.

Location:
Knox School Gymnasium (located at rear of school)
Burwood Hwy, Wantirna. (100 mts from Eastlink)

First Lesson Free
Parents are welcome to bring their child to a session on a first lesson free - “come and try” basis. Parents must book a free session prior by contacting the Flames Futsal coaching staff.

Program structure
First and foremost, each session must be fun and engaging for each child. The major emphasis of each clinic is to improve ball mastery skills including ball carrying speed(dribbling), deception skills, changing direction, feints and shielding. Despite the existing skill level of each child, we aim to build confidence in their ball mastery with a series of skill drills which graduate from no pressure to high pressure as their ability improves. The children will then be able to demonstrate each skill in small 1 vs 1, 2 vs 2 & 3 vs 3 game formats.

The skills we teach are relevant and valuable to both indoor and outdoor versions of the game. Due to time constraints, most club coaches must stick to core basics such as fitness, passing, shooting, receiving and team play. We see our program as filling this void by concentrating entirely on improving the technical ability of each child. Should your child wish to dedicate to Futsal, outdoor Football (Soccer) or even a combination of both, our attention to your child's technical ability will improve their confidence, enjoyment and prospects of enjoying a successful playing career.

Further development and pathway
Our more talented children will be invited to play for our representative teams within various Football Federation Victoria (FFV) sanctioned tournaments including the Melbourne Futsal League which runs over the summer months. This is a fantastic opportunity for high-level match play against some of the most talented players within Victoria.
